The Gettysburg Bicycle Infrastructure Tour and Overview

Monday, June 3   9:00 a.m.

Adams County Agricultural and Natural Resources Center

670 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg PA 17325

Registration is now open!

This year’s bicycle infrastructure tour is focused on the historic community of Gettysburg. We’ve added a presentation prior to the tour to allow for a more in-depth explanation about active transportation facilities in Adams County plus better opportunities for questions and answers. Here’s the agenda:

9:00 a.m.

Adams County Office of Planning and Development will present an overview of active transportation planning in the county since the late 1990s to present.

Next, Healthy Adams Bike/Ped Inc. (HABPI) will give a brief overview about their organization and then discuss the bike/ped projects they are working on plus a more detailed review of the Gettysburg Inner Loop project.

10:30 a.m.

Bike tour of the Gettysburg Inner Loop (GIL) – ride from the Ag Center (where we are meeting) to the GIL and explore the existing and planned sections of the trail.  Approximately 5 miles with stops for discussion/explanation.   (approx. 1 hour).

There is no cost for this program but registration is required by May 31.

Bicycle South Central PA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to promote bicycling, increase safety, improve conditions, and provide a voice for bicyclists in South Central Pennsylvania.

No BSCPA Active Transportation Summit will be offered in 2024. Instead, our region is fortunate to be hosting the PA Downtown Center’s Statewide Active Transportation Summit in York on June 26, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Several keynote speakers and workshops focused on Active Transportation, as well as infrastructure tours are scheduled. Your attendance is encouraged. https://padowntown.org/crossing-the-road
